Kathy is a native of Michigan and has delighted in visiting the greater Traverse City area for over thirty years with her family; having enjoyed twenty summers at their cottage on Spider Lake and now live in their home on Lake Skegemog.
Pairing with Coldwell Banker Schmidt was the perfect piece of the puzzle for Kathy. They are recognized as one of the most trusted and reputable real estate brands in the world. Expertise as masters of real estate marketing and online presence, having the reach of an international network and global connection and being a leader in the luxury market. And the Schmidt family is known for their honesty and integrity. These things are the perfect mix for Kathy.
Kathy and her family love their unique surname and have fun with it. The name Dork was changed from Dvořák when her husband’s great, great grandfather decided to Americanize the name when he opened Dork’s Groceries in Saginaw, Michigan. Her husband is also related to the famous Czech composer Antonín Dvořák. Antonín was considered the black sheep of the family because he became a composer and did not follow in the family business to become a butcher. Coincidentally, the massive butcher block used in Dork’s Groceries is proudly displayed in their Lake Skegemog kitchen.
Kathy enjoys sharing what this beautiful area’s lifestyle has to offer her clients with her local knowledge and expertise; which include a multitude of outdoor activities offering gorgeous nature trails for walking, hiking and biking in addition to boating and golfing as well as wonderful dining, boutique shopping along with unique events and activities for everyone.
Committed to you. Dedicated to HOME.
